My Computer Caught on Fire!
Ok ok ok, not actual flames. IF there was some paper or something or if I let it go long enough maybe the bread boards would have caught on fire...but there was some sort of ember glowing red brighter and brighter and it did melt the motherboard, ram, and cripsified one ram bank.
I may hook it up to an extension cord and take it outside with an old power supply out of the case and turn it on. See if it does actually produce flames. What it did produce was one hell of a smell. I'm sure some brain cells were lost.
I took some pictures of the ram and the motherboard, but I do want to get a picture of th glowing red part...I just don't want to have to open the windows in my apartment again (it's cold out) and of course I don't want to risk an actual fire or damage to my hard drives or anything reusable.
So I got a nice fancy HP laptop at Best Buy because I was in a pinch. Looks like I lucked out though, it's nice and fast and pretty looking. Did some research lol yea after I purchased it and it's respectable. I don't play many games these days, just program and photo editing. So perfect. The HP 2660se Verve was perfect. It's a downgrade from a 17" monitor but I can plug it in. Plus the last laptop I had with a huge monitor like that was a Sony VAIO with a P4 chip, bad heat issues, broken monitor, nuf sed. The remote that came with this laptop is nice, looks are nice, apparently good battery life, and the nice blue buttons are pimp. You can change volume and control playback with a swipe of the finger. No tactile feeling, just smooth space age like controls...like an iPhone or something, only it's a thin strip above the keyboard and not a color display.
Anyway, now in the process of recovering data and setting things up again. So glad that this all blew my weekend of work on my media blog. Least now I can work on a laptop on the train or bus or something if I really wanted. Sad I have to squeeze every 30 minutes I can to do the things I want. Well, back to it then!
