Wildlife Photography
I love to take photographs of wildlife when I can. Wildlife photography is very challenging, but I've been very fortunate in some cases. It takes a lot to get these photographs because of the equipment I have and the nature of wildlife photography. I use a Sigma 50-500mm most of the time for my wildlife photography (though on one rare occasion I was able to shoot a hummingbird with a macro lens!) The Sigma has a great zoom, but unfortunately it's a bit slow. The lens is very prone to movement and it's not hard to get a blurry photograph.
Carefully taking my time and shooting thousands and thousands of photos to get a few good ones is often what it takes. Like any other good challenge, I enjoy the patience and skill level involved with wildlife photography.
Fashion Photography
I've been fortunate enough to get some time to do some more fashion and portrait photography lately. I joined a group and have started studying more about lighting and photographing people. Here's some of what I've been doing.
Black and White Photography
I'm a big advocate of traditional black and white darkroom photography. I don't have the means to setup a darkroom though so most of my work comes from college photography courses. I believe that taking these courses helped me in my digital photography work as well.
